            Who We Are

There are over 236,000 of us in South Carolina who want to work.  We are 11.1% of our state’s workforce actively looking for jobs.  There are tens of thousand more of us who are either underemployed, working part-time or in jobs for which we are far overqualified, or who have given up the job search.  We are the voices the politicians aren’t hearing.  We are the faces policymakers aren’t seeing.  We are the consumers not spending.  We are the customers that our businesses need.  We are THE KEY to growing our state and national economy.

            What We Want

We want the attention of our policymakers and elected officials.  We want them to know our stories, hear our voices and see our faces.  We want our state and nation to concentrate on job creation, not job killing government spending cuts.  We want good jobs that pay a living wage, give us self-respect and contribute to building a vibrant economy.  We want to be a part of rebuilding the American middle-class dream of providing a good home for our families, sending our children to good schools, owning and paying for a car or two, and saving money for retirement.  We want our government to be on our side and invest in us as the best way to grow our economy.

We are consumers looking for jobs not "leeches" or "welfare queens"
